ISO 21001-2018 Training Centre Accreditation
The ISO 21001:2018 standard for Management Systems for Educational Organizations is a global management standard for professional training departments that develop or acquire educational products and services for their learning audiences.
The standard is based on having an "Educational Organization Management System ", or EOMS, that ensures good management practices and continuous improvement for all the people, systems, content and data within its domain. This includes the provision of training programs that have undergone a rigorous development process. Addiev designed and operates an innovative application system for organizations seeking to earn their ISO continuing education accreditation. Accredited training centres can issue valid CEU credits. |
What’s involved to get accredited?
- Organizations register with Addiev and enter into the guided application. The ISO registration fee is $5,000 CAD. This includes the audit fee and the first 3-year accreditation period, which then renews for $1,500 CAD for another 3 years. Addiev can be hired to support or manage the process for you.
- The accreditation process is a significant undertaking requiring time, effort, and commitment to complete—about 4 to 6 months.
- The online application has 10 categories requiring confirmation, descriptions, and/or evidence of practices in the management of a training centre and the development of educational products and services.
- An Addiev auditor will review the responses and provide feedback at each stage.
- A virtual audit session is conducted when the application is completed. An Addiev auditor will verify that the governance practices are operational.
- Successful applicants receive their ISO 21001:2018 accreditation.
ISO 29993-2017 Course Certification
The ISO 29993:2017 standard specifies requirements for Learning Services Outside Formal Education — ideal for any organization that isn't a K12, college, or university but wants to offer certified educational programming.
The standard concentrates on assuring that a program of study has undergone quality analysis, design, development, delivery, and evaluation, and has sufficient services in place for its delivery. Organizations can submit a course to Addiev for review and certification without having to go through ISO 21001:2018. |
What’s involved to get a course certified?
- Organizations register with Addiev and enter into the guided application. The ISO registration fee is $2,500 per course. This includes the audit fee and the first 3-year certification period, which then renews for $500 CAD for another 3 years. Addiev can be hired to support or manage the process for you.
- The online application has 6 categories requiring confirmation, descriptions, and/or evidence of practices that assure the program has been developed using quality approaches. It is straightforward and quick.
- An Addiev auditor will review the responses and the course, and provide feedback.
- Successful applicants receive their ISO 29993:2017 course certification within

ANSI/IACET 2018-1 C.E. AccreditationANSI/IACET 2018-1 is a global standard for training centre management including the oversight of structured course design and delivery. It consists of 9 major categories of governance applicable to any organization that sits outside of academia but seeks to offer certified courses.
The International Accreditors for Continuing Education & Training, or IACET, is the lead organization responsible for the ANSI/IACET 2018-1 standard for Continuing Education (CE). It is an excellent accreditation program that enables organizations to offer certified programs of study that issue real CE credits to their learners. |
What’s involved to get accredited?
- Organizations can register directly with IACET. The IACET registration fee is $6,800 CAD. This includes the audit fee and 1st-year's accreditation fee, which renews annually at $1,500 USD. Addiev can be hired to support or manage the process for you.
- The accreditation process is a significant undertaking requiring time, effort, and commitment to complete—about 6 or more months.
- The online application has 9 categories requiring confirmation, descriptions, and/or evidence of practices in the management of a training centre and the development of educational products and services.
- An IACET representative will review your responses and provide feedback throughout the process before the audit.
- If successful, you earn the IACET Accredited Provider designation.
